"Ideals are like stars; you will not succeed in touching them with your hands, but like the seafaring man on the desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them, you reach your destiny."
So use your life as a meditation, and all the events in it. Walk in wakefulness, not as one asleep. Move with mindfulness, not mindlessly, and do not tarry in doubt and fear, neither in guilt nor self-recrimination, yet reside in permanent splendor in the assurance that you are grandly loved. You are always One with Me. You are forever welcome. Welcome home.
There is nothing that you cannot be, do or have, and we want to assist you in achieving that. But we love where you are right now, even if you do not, because we understand how joyful the journey to where you want to go will be.
All of life is a meditation, in which you are contemplating the Divine. This is called true wakefulness, or mindfulness.
Experienced in this way, everything in life is blessed. There is struggle and pain and worry no more. There is only experience, which you may choose to label in any way you wish. You may choose to label all of it perfection.
“Remember to be gentle with yourself and others. We are all children of chance and none can say why some fields will blossom while others lay brown beneath the August sun. Care for those around you. Look past your differences. Their dreams are no less than yours, their choices no more easily made. And give, give in any way you can, of whatever you posses. To give is to love. To withhold is to wither. Care less for your harvest than for how it is shared and your life will have meaning and your heart will have peace.”
We love who we love, and that is good, we all see ourselves in the mirror, differently, we see our inner nature that is invisible to others, we come in many hues of the spectrum, many paths, in our lives, we each of us, walk on multiple paths. Straight, Gay, Bisexual, Trans-gender, Two-Spirited, Asexual, Black, Hispanic, Asian, Semitic, White, Indigenous, Disabled, Catholic, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Bahai, Pagan, Mormon,Taoist, Humanist, Atheist, Agnostic, Quaker, simple words we use to describe aspects of ourselves, just illusions of "otherness" that often separates us. As people, our true differences are in our ethics our compassion for others, our fairness, our loyalty in our dealings with each other, as we live our lives. May we come to respect each person we meet, judging not by their self identity, but by their character.
We are all making much too much of all of this. Much too much. Life is supposed to be good. It's supposed to feel fun. People are supposed to be your friends. They're supposed to evoke from you good things. You're supposed to evoke from them good things. You are not supposed to all want the same things. You have come with great variety. It's not virtuous to be the same. It's not inappropriate to be different. In other words, all of it's all right. Just make a decision that no matter what, you're going to feel good and you're not gonna let all these petty little things that have been worrisome for so long, that you've been taught by so many who are around you, you're just not going to play that game any more. Next time somebody puts you in a position where you feel that way just a little bit, stop and say, 'Oh, yeah -? I promised myself I wasn't going to do that any more." And they say, 'Do what?' And you say, 'Worry about what you think.' (Laughter) 'I promised myself I wasn't going to do that any more. I promised myself I was going to give myself the benefit of the doubt and give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you love me." And we don't think one of them will say, 'Well, you're wrong -- I don't.'
